From the Desk of President Breaux

September 27, 2022

Greetings!

Welcome to the first issue of the President’s Perspective! I am very excited to launch this newsletter and share news and information on some of the great things happening at Bowie State University.

You are receiving this newsletter because of your association with BSU or our previous connection. I look forward to connecting with you a few times a year.

The launch of this newsletter comes on the heels of U.S. News and World Report recognizing Bowie State University as one of the Top 20 Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the nation. We are proud to have increased our rating by six places, taking the number 18 spot on the list.

Additionally, we are in the middle of our Homecoming week festivities. Homecoming always provides our students, alumni and supporters an opportunity to come together and celebrate as one big BSU family. I hope you’ll join us at 2 pm on Saturday, October 1 to cheer our Bulldog football team to victory with the leadership of Coach Kyle Jackson.

In this issue, I want to highlight some of the recent achievements that show how BSU continues Racing to Excellence, including the great start of the new academic year. The campus is continuing to grow with our newest construction project, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Communication Arts and Humanities Building well underway.

I welcome your comments, feedback and questions related to the information provided and encourage you to share it with your colleagues and friends.

Sincerely,
