New Hub for Science Education, Research to Open at Bowie State
Center for Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Nursing to Promote Innovative Teaching and Research

WHAT: Bowie State University will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open a new Center for Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Nursing, designed to promote innovation in collaborative teaching and research, featuring one of the nation’s largest installations of dynamic glass that tints on-demand to create a comfortable, energy-efficient learning environment.
The center incorporates high-performance, sustainable design, aimed to achieve LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
WHO: Maryland Governor Larry Hogan joins state and local officials, science educators, and project partners to celebrate the opening of the new $102 million, 149,000-square-foot center.
WHEN: Friday, June 9, 2017, 11 a.m.
- Media tours will be available from 10-10:45 a.m.
- After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, there will be guided tours for the public and an indoor reception.
