BSU Women’s Basketball Makes Second Straight Appearance in NCAA Tournament
Bulldogs Head into NCAA DII Championships with Impressive 22-5 Overall Record

(BOWIE, Md.) – The Bowie State University women's basketball program will make its second straight appearance in the NCAA Division II Championships as the Bulldogs have been named the sixth seed in the Atlantic Region.
Under the leadership of head coach Shadae Swan, the Bulldogs head into the NCAA's with an impressive 22-5 overall record. Coach Swan was named Women's Basketball Coach of the Year by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA).
Bowie State will square off against No. 3 Indiana (Pa.) in the opening round in the Atlantic Region tournament, hosted by top-seed Glenville (W.Va.) State on Friday, March 15.
First-round matchups and seeds include: No. 1 Glenville (W.Va.) State vs. No. 8 West Liberty (W.Va.), No. 4 California (Pa.) vs. No. 5 Charleston (W.Va.), No. 2 Virginia Union vs. No. 7 Edinboro (Pa.) and No. 3 IUP vs. No. 6 Bowie State.
All four first-round games will be played on Friday, March 15, with the semifinals the following evening on Saturday, March 16. The Atlantic Region Championship will be played on Monday, March 18, with the winner advancing to the Elite 8 in Columbus, Ohio.
In last year's NCAA Division II Championships, the Bulldogs advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for only the second time in the team's history.
