(BOWIE, Md.) — Bowie State University proudly celebrated the achievements of its 2025 nursing graduates during the annual Pinning and Recognition Ceremony. The event honored 22 undergraduate and 7 graduate students who are now ready to enter or continue their careers in the nursing profession, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys.

The ceremony featured inspiring remarks from Bowie State President Dr. Aminta H. Breaux, who commended the Department of Nursing’s continued excellence and growth under the leadership of Chair Dr. Jacqueline J. Hill.

"When you walk into the department, you feel a sense of excellence," Breaux said. "Thanks to Dr. Hill’s leadership, perseverance, and bold vision, there truly ‘ain’t no stoppin’ us now.’ Our graduates are prepared with state-of-the-art training to serve with skill, compassion, and impact."

Dr. Hill, who will conclude her distinguished tenure as department chair in June, was honored with a university proclamation celebrating her leadership, decades of service, and steadfast commitment to academic excellence.

"It has been a joy and privilege to serve these brilliant future nurses," Hill said. "They embody strength, resilience, and the passion required for this calling. I know they will go on to serve their communities with excellence and purpose."

The celebration also highlighted the department’s cutting-edge Simulation and Resource Center, which plays a vital role in providing hands-on training for nursing students. Special recognition was given to the numerous healthcare partners who support clinical training and experiential learning, underscoring the importance of collaboration in shaping the next generation of healthcare leaders.

"Now is the time to dream big, reach high, and let nothing stand in your way," said President Breaux. "You are well prepared, and we know you will rise to meet the moment. There’s no stopping you now."
