Bowie State University Earns 2025–2026 Military Friendly® School and Spouse School Designation

(BOWIE, Md.)—Bowie State University has been recognized as a Military Friendly® School for the 2025–2026 academic year, continuing a distinction held since 2019. This recognition highlights the university's commitment to providing high-quality education and support to veterans, active-duty service members, and their families, including spouses. 

The Military Friendly® Schools list is compiled annually based on public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Institutions earning this designation are evaluated on factors such as veteran graduation rates, career outcomes, and support services for service members and their families. 

Bowie State offers dedicated resources, such as the Military Resource Center and Veterans Affairs Office, to assist both veterans and their spouses. The university also provides flexibility in course schedules and ensures compliance with the GI Bill and other military-related educational benefits, making it an ideal choice for those in the military community. 

Founded in 1865, Bowie State University is Maryland's first Historically Black College or University and remains committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students, including those who are veterans or military spouses.
