Pillars of Success

The College of Business acknowledges and rewards outstanding scholarship, teaching, mentorship, and service among its faculty and staff. The College presents these awards each academic year at its annual Pillars of Success Awards Program. Pillars of Success Awardees will be recognized on the University’s website and in the College of Business magazine.

The College of Business Pillars of Success Student Scholarships were established to encourage and financially support full-time College of Business students who have aptly demonstrated academic excellence, character, determination, and professionalism while completing their undergraduate degree. 

The College of Business has also added a Pillars of Success Entrepreneurship Award to encourage students’ innovation that exemplifies entrepreneurship from ideation to launching successful ventures in a way that demonstrates notable entrepreneurial characteristics and achievements while pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degree.   

The College of Business established the Pillars of Success Alumni Awards to recognize both graduate program and undergraduate program alumni who (1) have demonstrated the importance of giving back to their alma mater in an intentional way, (2) have taken action to provide current COB students a mentoring/guiding presence and (3) have provided internship/job opportunities for current COB students. Awards will be given annually to two Bowie State University College of Business alumni, one each from the undergraduate and graduate programs.
