Biden Visit Thank You

Last evening, we were honored to welcome President Joe Biden along with other elected officials at all levels of government to our campus as they encouraged Marylanders to exercise their right to vote in today’s election.

On behalf of the entire administration, thank you for the time, effort and dedication that went into making the event a success! We had limited planning time, requiring several individuals and departments to go above and beyond their daily tasks to prepare the campus for our guests.

Thank you to Government Relations, Conference and Event Services, Enrollment Management, Student Affairs, the Athletics Department, our Shared Governance leaders, public safety personnel, grounds crew and all others who played an integral role in the execution of a wonderful event.

Additionally, I want to recognize the students who helped to set the tone for the evening including our Student Government Association and Graduate Student Association leaders, members of the BSU University Choir, the Symphony of Soul Marching Band, our cheerleaders, dance team and BSU Ambassadors. We also appreciate our faculty and staff who attended the event, encouraged students to attend and provided a warm welcome to our visitors.

Thank you all for continuing on our Racing to Excellence journey!

Finally, I encourage each and every one of you to get out to the polls if you have not already voted. Congressman John Lewis once said, “[Voting] is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have to create a more perfect union.”
