Condolence on the Loss of Bulldog Football Player Anthony Lytton

It is with great sadness that I share news of the tragic loss of a member of our Bowie State Bulldog football team, Anthony Lytton, along with two other friends in a car accident in the early morning hours of July 6 in Prince George’s Conty. Lytton transferred to BSU in 2022 after previously attending and playing football at Florida State and Penn State Universities.

Coach Kyle Jackson describes “AJ,” a defensive corner back, as “a bright spot for the Bowie State football program. He was a great football player and an even better young man.”

Others in the car with Lytton were Khyree Jackson, a rookie recruit of the Minnesota Vikings set to begin playing this fall and Isiah Hazel who formerly played for the San Francisco 49ers after graduating from the University of Maryland. All three were former teammates and graduates of Henry A. Wise High School.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of all three bright young men who were on the cusp of achieving their dreams.

The BSU Counseling Services team is available to our students who may need support during this trying time. A counselor can be reached today at 301-860-4164. Appointments can be made during regular business hours by emailing counselingservices@bowiestate.edu.
