A Message from the President

Office of the President Personnel Change

I am pleased to welcome Ms. C. Gail Bassette to the Office of the President where she will serve as Director of Economic Development and Strategic Engagement. In this role, she will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy for engagement and cultivation of partnerships to advance the university. Ms. Bassette most recently served as Special Assistant for Federal Contracts Administration in the Office of the Provost. Prior to arriving at Bowie State University, Ms. Bassette held senior executive positions at state and federal government agencies.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the search committee including Dr. LaTanya Brown-Robertson, Dr. Anika Bissahoyo, Mr. Derrick Coley, Mr. Michael McGee, Mr. Jared Davis, and with Dr. Wendy Edmonds.
