Verdict in 2LT Richard Collins Murder Trial
As many of you may already know, the man charged with taking the life of our precious student 2LT Richard Collins III in 2017 was convicted of first-degree murder yesterday.
The verdict provides justice in this case. The Bowie State community will continue to honor the life of 2LT Collins, who was a leader and beloved member of our community. His legacy lives on at Bowie State through scholarships in his name and programs like Forward with Hope that are designed to bring people together to take a stand against hate and intolerance.
We continue to provide support to the Collins family and keep them in our thoughts, especially during this difficult time. Our resolve to embrace Bowie State’s core value of inclusivity and treat others with respect in all our interactions is stronger than ever.
