A Message from the President

Departure of Dr. Demetrius Johnson

I write to share that Dr. Demetrius Johnson, Vice President for Student Affairs, has resigned his position at Bowie State University and his last day on campus will be Friday, Jan. 28, 2022.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Johnson for his dedicated service to our students and the entire university during his time with us. His leadership of the COVID-19 Planning Committee, which he took on soon after arriving on campus, positioned Bowie State as a leader within the University System of Maryland for developing efficient and effective processes to keep our campus safe during the pandemic.

Please join me in wishing Dr. Johnson well in his future endeavors.
