Classes will not be suspended during the celebration; however, faculty are encouraged to bring their classes from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Faculty will not be required to dress in full academic regalia nor process in as part of the ceremony.
This year’s celebration focuses on the future in education by highlighting student achievements and an inspirational address by a recent BSU graduate, who is an emerging leader in education.
Keynote speaker, Dawaine M. Cosey (’16), serves as director of culture, empowerment and restorative justice at the all-boys Ron Brown College Preparatory High School in Washington, DC, a public school that aims to develop young men’s character, academic curiosity and service. Cosey is also a member of the school’s Culture and Restorative Efforts Team. He tirelessly and passionately provides support to the Young Kings for their socio-emotional development, personal growth, relationship building and sustained holistic health.
I look forward to your participation in this historic occasion.
