Launch of National Search: VP for Information Technology
Bowie State University is immediately launching a national search to identify the next Vice President for the Division of Information Technology (DIT).
Now more than ever, the critical role that technology plays and will continue to have in the life of our university is omnipresent. As we deliver education in a virtual environment and operate the university remotely today, we must continue to prepare for the future and the work that lies ahead.
The Vice President for Information Technology will report directly to the president and is a member of the President’s Cabinet. The Vice President will also partner with other senior leaders, faculty and the campus community in developing and enhancing strategies to support the information technology infrastructure for our rapidly evolving higher education environment.
Input from the campus community, as always, will be an important element of the search process as we look to fill this critical position. Please take a few minutes to complete an anonymous survey and share your thoughts about the future of information technology at Bowie State University. Additional opportunities for input from the campus community will be provided as the process continues, including participation in open town halls.
Please note, Ms. Marivic Weiss, will continue serving as the Interim Vice President until the national search has concluded. We are thankful to Ms. Weiss for her continued dedication and leadership to DIT that has enabled significant change for Bowie State University during her tenure.
