Due to inclement weather, Bowie State University will be closed January 26-27, 2026. All classes, office operations and on-campus activities are canceled. Residence halls will remain open. Personnel Change

I am pleased to welcome Ms. Tanya Jones to the Office of the President where she will serve as Executive Assistant and Office Operations Manager. Ms. Jones most recently served as Assistant Procurement Officer in the Office of Procurement, overseeing transportation services.  She has also served as the Chair of the Bowie State University and University System of Maryland Women’s Forums.  For the past several weeks, Ms. Jones has been working alongside Dr. Demetrius Johnson to help coordinate the university’s COVID-19 planning and preparation for our return to campus this summer. She will continue in this vital role as she transitions to her new position in the President’s Office. Please join me in congratulating Tanya.
