I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Mililani Sinclair to the position of Director of Title III at Bowie State University starting today. Please join me in welcoming Ms. Sinclair to our campus.

Ms. Sinclair is coming from Talladega College in Alabama where she oversaw Title III and other sponsored programs for the College. Ms. Sinclair earned her master’s degree in public administration and her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Savannah State University.

I want to thank the search committee for their service to identify the best candidates, nationally, for this critical role that will be key in effectively managing Bowie State University’s Title III Awards from the Department of Education as we continue to move forward in advancing our race to excellence.

I would also like to thank Dr. Anika Bissahoyo for her leadership as interim director of Title III and for the many achievements made by her and her team that will enable a smooth transition for the Office of Title III Program Administration.  Some examples of those accomplishments include:

• Alignment of Title III activities to the University’s vision and FY19-FY24 Strategic Plan
• Development of a structure for campus-wide Title III funding requests
• Establishment of a plan for sponsored programs oversight of Title III grant administration.
• Implementation of practices to foster information sharing related to Title III funded initiatives with the Title III Grant Award Showcase that took place on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 as the culminating activity that also allowed for the collection of feedback from attendees.
