A Message from the President
Virtual Commencement Celebration Set for Fall 2020 Graduates
As we prepare for another graduating Bowie State University class, careful consideration has been given to the ongoing conditions caused by the pandemic. To continue protecting health and safety of our BSU community members and the surrounding community, the commencement ceremony will once again be held virtually on Friday, December 18, 2020, at 10 a.m.
Plans are underway to create a virtual commencement that celebrates the achievements of our graduates, including a host of congratulatory messages from celebrities and campus leaders. Additional details about the virtual ceremony will be available online the Commencement web section (bowiestate.edu/commencement).
Today is the last day for students to apply for inclusion in the winter 2020 ceremony, so I encourage those who are eligible to graduate to submit their online applications through Bulldog Connection, if you have not done so already.
I would like to thank the special planning committee, led by Nancy Martin, for their diligence in developing this virtual celebration. The committee included representatives from all of the shared governance groups with the senior class president and Graduate Student Association president among them. The committee will communicate with students about your participation. I hope to see your smiling faces on the virtual screen in December. I am so proud of each of you.
