Let’s Welcome New Students to the BSU Community

I want to encourage everyone on campus this summer to be part of the welcoming committee for our new students and their families. We are in the final stages of New Student Orientation with seven sessions remaining. Tomorrow, July 26, we are expecting 183 transfer students for an 8:30 a.m. opening session in the Student Center, Theatre. 

When you encounter new students or family members, let them know how much we look forward to them being a part of our community. As we work to reach our enrollment target for the new class, we must all be focused on helping these students know that their choice to come to Bowie State is the right one.

New Student Orientation is a very important part of what we must do to sustain the long-term viability of the university, one of the top priorities in our “Race to Excellence.” Thank you to all of those who are working on the New Student Orientation and ensuring a quality experience for our newest students and their families.

Please join me in supporting this effort for each of the remaining dates: July 26, July 30, Aug. 1, Aug. 9, Aug. 14, Aug. 15 and Aug. 16.
