Clyde Doughty, Jr. Selected CIAA Athletic Director of the Year
Under His Guidance, BSU Athletics Claims Two Conference Titles, Two Runner-up Trophies

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) – The Bowie State University athletic director was named Athletic Director of the Year by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) at its annual Spring General Assembly Meeting and End-of-Year Awards Reception on Tuesday.
Under Doughty's guidance, Bowie State athletics programs claimed two 2016-17 conference titles in men's basketball and women's bowling, while the football and softball squads both took home runner-up trophies. In addition, Doughty and Bowie State successfully bid to host the 2017 women's tennis and outdoor track & field championships.
Doughty is actively involved in the conference, serving on the CIAA's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Management Council as the Northern Vice President. He also is the ADA liaison for compliance officers and the chair of the CIAA bowling championship.
