(BOWIE, Md.) – Dr. Aminta H. Breaux began her tenure as Bowie State University’s 10th president on July 1, 2017, and immediately started to fulfill the promise she made to the Bulldog Nation. She is getting to know the people who make Bowie State great.
In her first few weeks as president, Dr. Breaux has made her way around the campus and met with students, faculty, staff and alumni to learn what they value about their Bowie State experience. She has also met with friends of the university and elected officials, as she strives to strengthen and increase Bowie State’s community partnerships. She has also toured campus buildings, including the residence halls and research labs in the Center for Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Nursing.
Bringing more than 30 years of diverse experience in higher education to her new role, Dr. Breaux is excited to advance the mission of Bowie State University. Her priority focus is making sure that the students have the resources needed to succeed.
