Bowie State Queen & King Compete in Ebony Magazine Contest

Monique Scott & DeRonte Craig Could Be Featured in a Special Issue

(BOWIE, Md.) – Want to see Bowie State University featured in an upcoming issue of Ebony magazine? Vote for Miss Bowie State Monique Scott and Mr. Bowie State DeRonte Craig in the 2018-2019 HBCU Campus Queens and Kings online competition.

Monique Scott wearing a corwn stands back-to-back with DeRonte CraigScott and Craig are vying to be one of the top 10 campus queen or king, respectively, who will be featured in an upcoming issue of Ebony magazine. The publication’s annual competition for campus queens was expanded this year to include campus kings as well. The contest recognizes student leaders as role models of ambition, while highlighting the importance of an HBCU education. The contest website features profiles of each student, including their extracurricular activities and career goals and a short video. 

Bowie State supporters can vote for the students as many times as you want through December 31, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Use #EbonyCampusQueens2018 and #EbonyCampusKings2018 to spread the word to your networks and encourage people to vote for the Bowie State campus queen and king.

The last Miss Bowie State to be featured in Ebony magazine’s Campus Queens issue was Erica Johnson (‘14).
