Diverse Issues Ranks BSU as Top 100 Producer of Minority Degrees

(BOWIE, Md.) – Recognizing its leadership in providing high-quality education to diverse learners, Bowie State University continues to rank among the nation’s 2019 Top 100 Producer of Minority Degrees by Diverse Issues in Higher Education as one of Maryland’s top five institutions graduating African-Americans with bachelor’s degrees in biology, nursing and information technology fields.
Among Maryland four-year colleges and universities, Bowie State ranks as the #4 producer of African-American graduates with bachelor’s degrees in the nursing field and bachelor’s degrees in biological sciences fields. Bowie State is #5 among the state’s institutions graduating African-Americans with bachelor’s degrees in the computer and information science fields.
Bowie State's science and technology fields have continue to receive accolades. The undergraduate nursing program was recently ranked the #1 program at a historically black college or university by TopRNtoBSN.com. The university's cybersecurity programs are recognized by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security as models of excellence.
Diverse annually produces its Top 100 rankings of the colleges and universities that confer the most degrees to minority students, based on an analysis of data from U.S. Department of Education reports submitted by the institutions.
