(BOWIE, Md.) – With an aim toward promoting diversity and inclusion, the Bowie State University community celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with events to celebrate cultural awareness and honor the contributions of Latino communities.

A new Multicultural Programs and Services Office, coordinated by Keadrick Peters, has coordinated events throughout the month with Raices, the student group, and the Department of Language, Literature & Cultural Studies. Through this office, Peters has planned events and activities to engage the university community in cultural heritage celebrations throughout the year.

For Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15, some featured Bowie State activities include:

  • A Taste of Hispanic Culture Food Demonstration
Every Tuesday during Hispanic Heritage Month from 12-1 p.m. (Sept. 24, Oct. 1, Oct. 8, Oct. 15)
    Student Center, Lobby
Learn to prepare Hispanic heritage dishes for ongoing celebration all year long.
