(BOWIE, Md.) – When you're looking a way to get motivated to work out or focus on your health, a new online fitness video series from the Bowie State University’s recreation programs may be the inspiration you need to get moving during the COVID-19 response.

The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics & Recreation launched the BSU Recreation at Home video series to support students, faculty and staff in getting fit and staying healthy. It is set to run through at least the end of the spring semester. The goal is to connect the BSU community with fun, easy-to-do recreation activities that you can complete at home.

“It’s a great way to help the BSU community to get motivated and excited about working out,” said Patricia Taylor, assistant director for intramurals and recreation. “This time can be stressful, especially when you’re not used to working only online. Working out does help you to stay more focused. I hope these videos will help BSU to get through this.”

The first video is a 30-minute Boot Camp workout, led by Dione Bowlding (’78). Online yoga workouts will follow.

“Put your health first. The videos are a good way to get up and do some type of workout,” Taylor said. “Working out is just a great way to start your day off. It makes your day so much better.”
