Bowie State University Names Sabrina Ram as Vice President of Marketing and Communications
Veteran Communicator Brings Higher Education and Corporate Experience to New Position

(BOWIE, Md.) – Bowie State University (BSU) is poised to welcome Sabrina Ram as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, joining BSU’s leadership team on July 8. In her role, Ram will oversee the development and implementation of integrated marketing and communication strategies that advance the university’s mission, reputation, vision, and goals.
“We’re very excited to have Ms. Ram join the BSU family to lead our newly created Marketing and Communications division,” said President Aminta Breaux. “The administration, faculty, and staff look forward to working with her as the University continues to grow and serve the community.”
Ram comes to Bowie State with two decades of experience in strategic communications and marketing in the corporate and higher education sectors. She will oversee BSU's Marketing and Communications division, which includes public relations, internal communications, marketing, social media, creative services, and event services. The department focuses on advancing the University’s brand and reputation to amplify its mission, support its strategic enrollment efforts, and highlight its prominent educational and community impact.

Previously, Ram held leadership roles at prestigious institutions such as Arcadia University, Walden University, and Drexel University Online. She has also helped to lead external relations for renowned ed tech providers Laureate Education and 2U, Inc., where she developed and executed strategic communications strategies for the University of Liverpool, the University of Southern California, Northwestern University, New York University, and more. In addition, Ram has led communications and branding strategies for pre-K–6 education solutions provider Learning A-Z and daily newspaper The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Ram earned her bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications and Public Relations from Drexel University and a master’s degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University. She has also completed two executive leadership programs at Cornell University.
