Bowie State University Ranked Among 2025 Best for Vets Colleges

(BOWIE, Md.) — Military Times has named Bowie State University to its 2025 Best for Vets list.  Bowie State is proud to be ranked fourth in Maryland and tenth in the Mid-Atlantic region as a military- and veteran-friendly institution. Bowie State University’s Military Resource Center represents an unprecedented commitment by the university to cultivate and lead innovative academic, government and community collaborations positioned to empower those who have served in defense of the nation.

Andre Clayton, director of the Military Resource Center and a retired Army service member, shared that supporting this community is both a mission and a calling. “My goal is to support the academic aspirations of those who have volunteered and answered their nation’s call,” Clayton said. “It is important to me that my fellow brothers and sisters in arms feel welcomed and receive the resources they need.”

Military Times’ Best for Vets: Colleges is the largest and most comprehensive ranking of schools for military service members and veterans. The annual ranking looks at services available to veterans and practical information that helps them make important decisions about their career planning and how to use the education benefits they earned through military service.

At the heart of this recognition is the Military Resource Center. The center assists with admissions, financial planning, academic success, career networking and other services designed to help service members, veterans and their families reach their personal and professional goals.

Bowie State provides flexible pathways for military learners at every stage of service through online, in-person and evening courses. Experienced faculty and tailored academic programs help students continue personal development, explore new opportunities and transition into the next chapter of their lives with confidence.
