Bulldogs Return to Campus with Spirit, Support and New Opportunities

Sunshine, warm weather and an enthusiastic team of Bowie State faculty, staff and volunteers welcomed Bulldogs back to campus for the 2026 fall semester. As Bulldogs settled into their dorm rooms after moving in, the Office of Student Engagement, along with other campus organizations, offered well-planned and coordinated activities to welcome new and returning students to Bowie State University. 

Events took place on and off campus, giving new students the chance to get to know the area. Activities included new student orientation, a skate party and a cookout. There was a lot of fun to be had at the DTLR Welcome Back HBCU Tour featuring hip-hop, bounce and R&B artists. Urban One’s new ONE Yard: HBCU Experience celebrated HBCU culture, community, creativity and entrepreneurship in conjunction with the Entrepreneurship Innovation Center's EIC Day. The week rounded out with a student organization fair for new, transfer and current students to find their community in the many groups and clubs on campus.  

Bowie State University strives to be a beacon of higher learning as well as a builder of community in the city of Bowie, the state of Maryland and beyond.
