Star Fallen
Thesis Statement
Star Fallen is a short story I created that follows an Alien that crashes onto a beach and finds themself in need of assistance in locating a king that houses their alien race. My target audience is primarily Black teens and young adults who are seeking more representation of themselves in fantasy fiction. I believe that the fantasy genre should be more diverse and should not be limited to Eurocentric medieval characters. It is my goal to goal to create art that features a diversity of Black people who are plus-sized, queer, or disabled through a variety of forms and mediums whether it be comics, animation, or illustration.

- My goal is to create more diverse content in the realm of Fantasy Fiction. It is not often that we as an audience see a cast or protagonist that is majority Black, plus sized, Disabled, and/or Queer in the Fantasy genre and I want to create more content with those themes. I believe a lot of fantasy related works, while great and visually intriguing, are still very much mainly focused on Eurocentric themes and Medieval in nature and culture. In terms of representation, it fails in that regard and as an artist who creates work for Black people, especially for those who are queer, plus-sized, disabled, or in any other minority category, it is my mission to make sure they are represented in media just like their Cis, Straight or white counterparts.
