Blooming Bottle

By Racquel Lee

A bottle cast amidst the rumbling sea

Hidden within such a startling depth

Drowning a feeling by its fractured seams

It appears as nothing, not deep, not wet

The deeper the mass, the bigger the wave

As it clashes against the tattered earth

The harder the fall, the shifting of blame

It broke the foundation of a strong berth

Now the dirt is salty, great tears are shed

As rocks tumble over to the grand below

The core is broken, swollen hot with dread

While the bearing caves in from wind and woe

The planet shatters from its battered might

Crumbling, crashing, like a surge or a tide
