Call for Proposals

Bowie State University invites innovative researchers, center directors, teachers, programming experts, makers and industry partners to present at our 2023 HBCU+ Entrepreneurship Hybrid Conference on September 27, 2023. This years theme, "The Exponential Power of Collaboration," encapsulates the transformative potential that arises when individuals join forces, pool resources, and work together towards a common goal. This theme highlights the unique strength and impact that can be achieved through collaboration within the historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) community. Through inspiring keynote speakers, practical breakout session panels, and welcoming networking activities, we will showcase the importance and the roles of collaboration in research, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), programming, teaching, and student Innovations.

Guidelines

Thank you for considering submitting a proposal for the HBCU Entrepreneurship Conference! We welcome and encourage individuals from the HBCU community to share their innovative ideas, research, and experiences through our proposal submission process. Each track session presentation will be 25 minutes in length. Each submission should clearly identify which of the four conference tracks it aligns with.

  1. Theme Alignment: Ensure that your proposal aligns with the conference theme, "The Exponential Power of Collaboration." We are particularly interested in proposals that demonstrate the transformative impact of collaboration on entrepreneurial endeavors within the HBCU community.
  2. Originality and Innovation: Share fresh and original ideas that contribute to the advancement of entrepreneurship. We value proposals that offer new perspectives, unique approaches, and innovative solutions to challenges faced by HBCU entrepreneurs.
  3. Practical Application: Emphasize the practical application of your work. We seek proposals that provide actionable insights, practical tips, and real-life case studies that conference attendees can apply to their own entrepreneurial journeys.

TRACK A: Collaboration in Research

Showcase entrepreneurship research with an exploration into the various methods that have facilitated innovation and yielded tangible outcomes.

TRACK B: Collaboration in Teaching   

Share innovative teaching methodologies, strategies, and resources that foster entrepreneurship among the HBCU community by exchanging knowledge, experiences, and best practices.

TRACK C: Collaboration in Entrepreneurship Center Programming

xplore the latest trends, best practices and the role HBCU’s play in building entrepreneurial programming and skills, and, launching successful businesses, and identifying capital.

TRACK D: Collaboration in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics)

Demonstrate groundbreaking ideas, cutting-edge research, and practical applications at the intersection of STEAM and entrepreneurship and contribute to the development of the next generation of STEAM-driven entrepreneurs.
