Severe Weather Plan
In the event of a severe weather forecast for Friday, May 17 (lightning/storming or heavy rain), a decision will be made 2-3 days prior to Commencement Day to move the ceremony and all related activities indoors.
Commencement Ceremony
When an official severe weather decision is made, the commencement ceremony will move to the Leonidas S. James Physical Education Complex. Only guests with tickets marked “RAIN” will be admitted to view the ceremony in that location. All other guests are encouraged to watch the ceremony live stream in the following satellite locations on campus:
- Martin Luther King Jr. Communication Arts Center, Auditorium [building #2 on the campus map]
- James E. Proctor Jr. Building, Rooms 102 and 117 [building #4 on the campus map]
- Student Center Theater [building #20 on the campus map]
