The Virtual Black Boys and Men Speaker Series
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
The program theme is Centering Black Boys and Men During a Global Pandemic. We will be prioritizing and humanizing Black boys’ and men’s experiences throughout the K-12 and collegiate pipeline during the coronavirus pandemic for teachers, administrators, professors, instructional support staff, stakeholders, and families. Black male high school students, educational leaders, and parents will engage in a Community Conversation about Black male students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being during the pandemic.
We will also feature Dr. Vermelle Greene, Chair, Task Force on Achieving Academic Equity and Excellence for Black Boys, Maryland State Board of Education, to provide a brief update to the community about the Task Force report and let them know how they support and act on this important work.
This year, the program will feature a documentary of Black Boys and Young Men at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
