Safe Space Training

Safe Space training is an opportunity to learn about:
- LGBT+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and related communities) identities
- gender
- sexuality
- examine prejudice
- assumptions
- privilege
Safe space is a voluntary network of faculty, staff, students, and community members who believe that every member of the university and the broader community should have an equal opportunity to grow and learn in a safe and open environment.
Both parts 1 and 2 are hosted in-person.
PART 1 (Awareness Training): 10:30am-12pm. will focus on awareness and sensitivity issues focused on the LGBTQIA community coupled with applying concepts to the BSU community
Working lunch provided to staff on campus- 12 pm-12:30 pm
PART 2 (Ally Training): 12:30pm-2pm. will focus on what does it mean to be an ally to the LGBTQIA community at BSU
In order to receive a certificate of completion and a safe space sticker, you must attend both training session.
