Safe Space Training

2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Join us for an enriching opportunity to participate in our Safe Space Training Program, designed to foster inclusivity and support for the LGBT+ community. Whether you're a faculty member, student, or community ally, this training will equip you with the knowledge and tools to create a more open and safe environment for all.

What You'll Learn:

  • LGBT+ identities (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and related communities)
  • Gender and sexuality
  • Challenging prejudice, assumptions, and privilege

Our Safe Space network is a voluntary group of faculty, staff, students, and community members committed to ensuring everyone at the university and beyond has equal opportunities to grow and learn in an inclusive, supportive environment.

Training Details:

Part 1 Awareness Training:
10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Focus on increasing awareness and sensitivity towards LGBTQIA+ issues, applying these concepts within the BSU community.

Working Lunch (For On-Campus Staff):
12:00 PM - 12:30 PM

Part 2 Ally Training:
12:30 PM - 1:00 PM
Learn what it truly means to be an ally for the LGBTQIA+ community at BSU and beyond.

Attend in-person or online!

Completion Requirements:
To receive a certificate of completion and a Safe Space sticker, participants must attend both sessions.
