NC A&T Four: Social Justice Student Activism

12:30 PM - 2:00 PM

Join us in honoring the legacy of The NC A&T Four by hosting a shared conversation on their transformative student activism. On February 1, 1960, these four freshmen from NC A&T (HBCU)  Ezell Blair Jr. (now Jibreel Khazan), Franklin McCain, Joseph McNeil, and David Richmond took a courageous stand by sitting at the whites-only lunch counter at the F.W. Woolworth store in downtown Greensboro. This historic act sparked a nationwide movement of sit-ins, leaving an enduring impact on civil rights.

Throughout Black History Month, we invite you to engage in meaningful discussions, reflecting not only on historical milestones but also on current social injustices affecting Black, Brown (Latino), and Indigenous peoples of the Americas (Native Americans). Through an intersectionality lens, come together with us in celebration, understanding, and a commitment to progress. Join us in-person or virtual.
