Research Interests
My research examines coping behaviors, mental health, and the social, developmental, institutional, and contextual factors that shape the functioning of Black men and families and influence their decision-making processes. My research aims to enhance the cultural understanding of the intersection between coping strategies, mental health and sexual health behaviors, and family dynamics within the Black community. By examining these complex interrelationships, I seek to develop an innovative framework that equips social workers with culturally responsive interventions, enabling them to more effectively address mental health challenges, family-related stressors, and other significant issues affecting Black men and families.
