Euwanna Heard

Ms. Euwanna A. Heard is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Nursing.

Prior to her arriving at Bowie State, Ms. Heard’s  35+ year nursing career includes positions held at Howard University Hospital as a staff nurse in Orthopedics, Urology and the Operating Room. Her experience also includes staff nurse, Nurse Clinician and Clinical Manager of Operating Room Services at MedStar/Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Heard received her Associate Degree in Applied Sciences at the University of the District of Columbia. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Nursing at Bowie State University. She is currently a doctoral candidate in the Richard W. Wiley’s Higher Education and Adult Learning Program at Walden University.

Ms. Heard resides in Lanham, MD with her husband, Clayton Heard who is a Certified Surgical Assistant at the United Medical Center in Washington, DC and Prince George’s County Hospital Center. Together they raised three sons Duane, Darren and Derrick and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, family and friends.
