Biography

Dr. Moffett joined Bowie State University in January 2023 as the Founding Director of Experiential Learning. In this role, he provides leadership, direction, development, and programming for high impact practices in collaboration with administrators, faculty, and staff to expand curricular and co-curricular experiential learning across the university.

Dr. Moffett has over 20 years of professional experience as a servant and transformational leader as well as a behavioral and educational counselor in Higher Education and K-12 Institutions. Previously, Dr. Moffett served in leadership roles as the Executive Director of Career Services, Director of Career Services - Main Campus, Director of Career Services - Community College Campus, and Adjunct Professor at the University of the District of Columbia. He also served as the Special Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Services, Founding Assistant Coordinator of Cooperative Education, Career and Academic Counselor, and Faculty Instructor at Northern Virginia Community College. Earlier in his career, he served as a School Guidance Counselor at Digital Harbor High School and Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School with the Baltimore City Public Schools System. Dr. Moffett has taught college courses in psychology, education, counseling, and student development. Lastly, Dr. Moffett completed six academic credit-based internships and practicums at the undergraduate and graduate level.

A proud Marylander, Dr. Moffett was born and raised in Cumberland, Maryland.
