Biography

Dr. Konda Reddy Karnati is an Assistant Professor of Bioinformatics in the Department of Natural Sciences at Bowie State University. He obtained his Master of Science in Bioinformatics from Pondicherry University (Pondicherry, India) and Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the Alagappa University, India. He has done his first postdoctoral research work at the National University of Singapore, then worked as a Research Associate/Instructor at Albany State University, USA. His main research interest lies in structural bioinformatics and biomolecular simulations, and his lab focuses on HIV-1 drug resistance and viral-host protein-protein interactions. He has published over 20 research articles in peer-reviewed journals and three book chapters in different Bioinformatics books.

Dr. Karnati is the Bioinformatics Program Coordinator at BSU. He is also a Topic Editor for Molecules Journal and XSEDE Campus Champion for Bowie State University.
