Dr. Badibanga has been an Associate Professor of Economics at Bowie State University since 2022, after working for the same institution as a Visiting Assistant Professor of economics from 2014 to 2017 and as an Assistant Professor of Economic from 2017 to 2022. He is also the Coordinator of the Bowie State University’s regional business programs at the College of Southern Maryland, Prince George’s Community College, and Howard Community College. Before joining Bowie State University, he worked for the International Food Policy Research Institute – IFPRI (a Washington D.C. based research institution) from 2010 to 2014 as an Associate Research Fellow and the Coordinator of the IFPRI’s Country Strategy Support Program (CSSP) for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Dr. Badibanga worked also as a Lecturer at the University of Kinshasa (Kinshasa, DRC) from 1994 to 2000, an Instructor at the University of Minnesota Twi-Cities from 2003 to 2010, an Adjunct Professor at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John University (Minnesota) in 2009, and an Adjunct Professor at Hamline University (Minnesota) in 2010. Dr. Badibanga was also an expert at the DRC Internal Revenue Service from 1994 to 2000 and a Fiscal Advisor to the DRC Minister of Treasury in 1998. He earns a Master degree in Economics from Western Illinois University and a Ph.D. degree in Applied Economics, Macroeconomics, Economic Growth and Development from the University of Minnesota, Twins Cities. His research foci include structural transformation, economic growth, development, and agricultural and rural development.
