Jan. 28-30 Virtual Operations, Campus Remains Closed

Bowie State University will continue with virtual operations for all classes and office operations through Friday, January 30, 2026. The campus will be closed to all non-essential personnel, and all campus activities are canceled. All buildings except residence halls and the dining hall will be closed. Essential personnel should report on time. This is due to the extended time required to clear the extensive snow and ice accumulation on campus. University crews are making every effort to resume campus operations, as a safe return to in-person learning and work remains our top priority. Housing Facilities

Bowie State University offers several housing accommodations for external guests over the summer. The university's seven residence halls provide comfortable and affordable lodging options for a variety of events, including youth camps, conferences, and special programs. Each residence hall is equipped with essential amenities to ensure a pleasant stay for guests. 

Please note that housing availability is subject to change based on the timing of the request, existing reservations, and other university priorities. 

  • Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community (ELLC)

     

    Building Type: Multi-use complex with living, learning and retail space 

    Amenities: One- and two-bedroom furnished suites with common living areas. Each floor has a laundry room and a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, two-burner cooktop and refrigerator. Other features include a game room, fitness room, conference room, multiple TV lounges and Wi-Fi, plus a grab-and-go eatery on site. 

     

  • Harriet Tubman Hall

     

    Building Type: Traditional three-story residence hall with double rooms and community bathrooms and showers 

    Amenities: Hall amenities include a laundry facility in the basement, air conditioning units in rooms, and a lounge for studying, programs, and socializing. The lounge, located off the lobby, also includes vending machines and cable TV. 

  • Towers Hall

     

    Building Type: Six-story high rise with double rooms and community bathrooms 

    Amenities: Hall amenities include laundry facilities and kitchenettes on alternating floors and a lounge for studying, programs, and socializing. The lounge, located off the lobby, also includes vending machines and cable TV.

  • Dwight Oliver Holmes Hall

     

    Building Type: Traditional three-story residence hall with double rooms, community bathrooms and showers 

    Amenities: Hall amenities include a laundry facility on the first floor, air conditioning units in rooms, and a lounge for studying, programs, and socializing. The kitchen includes a small lounge area. The lobby has cable TV and vending machines. 

  • Lucretia Kennard Hall

     

    Building Type:Traditional three-story residence hall with double rooms and community bathrooms, and showers

    Amenities: Hall amenities include a laundry facility and vending machines in the basement and the lounge. The lounge is located off the lobby and is utilized for studying, programs, classes, and includes cable TV.

  • Alex Haley Residential Complex

     

    Building Type: Six-story suite style 

    Amenities: Hall amenities include a laundry facility, floor lounges and kitchenettes on each floor, and a lounge. The lounge, located off the lobby, is utilized for studying, programs, classes, and includes cable TV. Other amenities include a conference room, computer lab, and the C-Store, Bowie State University's own convenience store. 

  • Christa McAuliffe Residential Community (CMRC)

     

    Building Type: Multi-level apartments building 

    Amenities: Two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments that are fully furnished and conveniently equipped with full kitchens.
