Celebrate Black History & Culture

Join Bowie State University as we celebrate the success and achievements of African Americans during Black History Month! The 2025 Black History Month theme, “African Americans and Labor,” highlights the profound impact of Black workers across history.

Our Spring Convocation celebrates the start of the spring semester and Black History Month. This year’s Spring Convocation keynote speaker is Dr. Lorretta Johnson, secretary-treasurer emeritus for the American Federation of Teachers.
