Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Jonathan E. Watson
Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Jonathan E. Watson is a native of Washington D.C. He is a graduate of Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland where he received his commission as a Regular Army Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. He also holds two Master of Arts degrees.
Lieutenant Colonel Watson began his career with the 305th Quartermaster Company (FWD), Camp Casey, Korea, where he served as a Supply Platoon Leader for a forward detachment. Following his promotion to Captain, he served as the Company Commander of the 202/205 Quartermaster Company, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia. After his company commander tour, he served as an instructor at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Lieutenant Colonel Watson was promoted to the rank of Major and assigned to the 2d Forward Support Battalion, 2d Infantry Division, Camp Hovey, Korea, where he served as the Battalion Executive Officer. He later served as the Aide-de-camp to the Commander 8th United States Army, Seoul Korea. Lieutenant Colonel Watson took Command of the 835th Transportation Battalion in Okinawa, Japan in 2007.
His last tour of duty was the Joint Staff, Directorate for Logistics (J4) at the Pentagon.
He has been deployed to Somalia, Iraq, and Kuwait for combat operations and humanitarian missions.
Lieutenant Colonel Watson’s military award decorations are many and includes the Legion of Merit, which is given for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services and achievements.
Currently, Lieutenant Colonel Watson is serving as the Senior Army Instructor at Jones High School, Orlando, Florida. He resides in Gotha, Florida and is married to the former Wylea Troy of Columbia, Maryland. They have three children.
