Wellness Challenge Encourages BSU Community to Stay Healthy

30-day Campaign Promotes Seven Healthy Habits

(BOWIE, Md.) – It’s easy to get stuck in a rut with your health and wellness goals, especially when you’re teleworking and taking classes from home because of the COVID-19 response. That’s why the staff of the Henry Wise Wellness Center at Bowie State University has launched a 30-day Wellness Challenge from April 1-30 to encourage students, faculty and staff to engage in seven healthy habits, with a focus to increase your overall wellness in mind, body and soul.

In past years, the Wellness Challenge has brought together the campus community in health and wellness facilitated activities. This year, members of the campus community are encouraged to engage in activities on their own, with helpful tips and encouragement from the Wellness Center staff that will be posted online throughout the month. There will also be ways to engage in virtual group activities focused on different aspects of wellness.

As an extra motivator, faculty and staff are asked to join a social media campaign to share their thoughts on health and wellness through 30-second videos that will be posted to the Wellness Center Instagram account. Participants should record from waist up in business professional attire and send their videos to hwwc@bowiestate.edu or the @bsuwellness Instagram account or .

The campaign's goals are to maintain campus community bonds through virtual experiences and promote positive behaviors through a focus on health and wellness.
