Have you ever wanted to hang out with friends but you didn’t want to leave the house? Even though we are past the worst of the pandemic, people are still enjoying fun activities online like a virtual sip-and-paint party.

For those who aren’t familiar with a sip-and-paint, it is a virtual gathering that may include a host/instructor that guides the participants in painting a picture while sipping their favorite beverage.

The pandemic made people creative in the sense that even though establishments may have been shut down temporarily, it didn’t stop the show. Video conferencing apps, like Zoom, have contributed a significant part in the how we’ve able to still attend classes, but we can also use it for fun.

Here’s how to host your own zoom sip-and-paint party with your friends:

       1. Make sure you and your friends have the following materials:

  • A canvas or water color paper.
  • Paints.
  • Paintbrushes.
  • Your phone, laptop, or device to connect online.
  • Your choice of beverage
  1. Find a picture of a cityscape, a fruit bowl, a beautiful woman with an afro or whatever else you would like to paint. You can also paint totally different paintings if you want to. Or maybe you don’t want to be the instructor, go to YouTube for sip-and-paint tutorials. If this is the option that you prefer, you can share the video during the virtual sip-and-paint. Picasso Baby on Youtube posts step-by-step videos that are made especially for sip and painting at home: https://YouTu.be/sfFamMAOzWU.
  2. Invite your friends to the virtual meet up and share the video with everyone.
  3. Paint. Sip. Enjoy.

If painting is not your thing, there are other activities that you do including virtual cooking/baking, virtual jewelry making, virtual DIY projects and the list goes on. These activities can also be done solo if that’s what you prefer. Even though we’ve made it through the pandemic, keep the creative juices flowing online!
