The Look of Love

By Sean Henderson

Will you know it when you see it,

Will it be passionate and caring,

A feeling so strong that the bashful become daring.

A look that heals you and frees you from all danger,

One that reels you and dispels all anger.

Will it repair your heart from all them worldly bruises

And give a new formula and show you how to use it.

That’s love I tell ya!

Love is the key to free you and me

From things that we lack to our inadequacy.

Will you know it when you see it? A moment in time, a short glance from another

Although our tongues may differ, still we understand each other. Now a lasting look, their eyes

wider than the Nile,

A man void of speech, his friend but a smile.

Not a word is ever uttered, nor a voice to be declared,

We have only the look of love, this we all shared!

Will you know it when you see it?
