Heal, Honey

By Moe’na Canada

Authenticity, an extinct characteristic amongst individuals

who align their intentions and actions

with socially acceptable Immorality.

Individuals influenced by the culture of media,

distorted and feigned.

When held accountable,

maybe a taste of their reality

dances at the tip of

their tongue; or either

an abundance of animosity.

Empathetic I am,

to those who are perceived as different.

Those who pull passion from their heart

when they speak; knowing probability

of collective taunting and

purposeful misunderstanding.

A daunting persona,

despite horrific experiences

with life or a declining self-esteem,

is inhumane.

Temporary validation

from like-minded people

at the cost of another's mental well-being

is heartless.

You cannot ward off your demons

by becoming someone else’s.

Heal, honey.
