Internship Eligibility and Responsibility
- GPA – Employers will often ask you to submit a grade point averge (GPA). Check the internship/job announcement for GPA specification before applying.
- Class – Employers may ask for your classification: freshman, sophomore, junior, senior or graduate. Check the internship/job announcement for class specification before applying.
- US citizenship – Employers sometimes specify that a student applying for an internship be a U.S. citizen. This may be particularly true for government internship/job postings.
- Other eligibility requirements may include letters of recommendation, writing sample, security clearances, et al.
- Don't rush your application. Be thoughtful. Check for grammatical and contextual accuracy. Always review your application. It is recommended that you have at least one or two other people review your application before you submit it.
