Program Requirements

When you’re considering an MPA program, finding an accredited university is essential. Our MPA program is one of a few historically Black colleges and universities in the country to receive accreditation by the Network of School of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA).

The MPA degree requires 36 credit hours, comprised of 18 hours of core classes and 18 hours in a selected concentration.

Concentrations include: 

• General Public Administration
• Public Policy and Management (PPM)
• Human Resource Management (HRM)

Other Requirements

The MPA degree doesn’t require a thesis. However, you must meet all degree requirements within seven consecutive years. To graduate, you’ll have to take and pass a three-hour comprehensive examination within three attempts.
