Hey, Bowie State trailblazers! Get pumped for the Entrepreneurship Innovation Center’s 2025 Bulldog Pitch Competition – where your groundbreaking ideas can turn into reality and win you a share of the $20,000 prize pool! Whether you're a solo genius or part of a dynamic team of up to four, this is YOUR opportunity to shine. We're calling on all undergraduate and graduate students hungry for success and ready to make waves.

Eligibility 

This year we are excited to offer two categories: 

  1. Idea Stage: If your business is just a sparkling idea waiting to burst onto the scene, and you haven't made a single dime from it, you're in the right place! We're on the lookout for businesses in the early stages of development or launch. This category is for dreamers and visionaries who are ready to turn their ideas into reality.
  2. Revenue Generating Stage: If your business is already generating revenue, no matter the amount, welcome to the big leagues! This category is for the hustlers and money-makers among us. Whether you're making it rain or just a drizzle, if revenue is flowing, you're eligible to compete. 

Competition Guidelines and Rules 

  1. A team must submit an application and can consist of up to four people.  One member from your team must be a current Bowie State University student.  
  2. Students or teams can only apply for 1 category, not both. 
  3. If you have previously entered the Big Idea Competition, you can re-enter with the same idea only if you did not previously win any prizes. Or you can always enter with a new, different idea. 
  4. Applicants will be notified if they will be advancing to the next round or not by Wednesday, March 12, 2025. 
  5. Up to six finalists will be selected for each of the two categories to go to the Semi-Final Round of the competition on April 10, 2025. 
  6. Semi-Finalists and Finalists must be physically present to present for both the Live Semi-Final Round Competition on Wednesday, April 10, 2025, and the Final Round Competition on Thursday, April 30, 2025. No prerecorded presentations will be permitted. 
    1. Applicants can have a “backup” presenter to pitch on their behalf if any emergency arises. 
  7. If you are selected as a Semi-Finalist and Finalist, you must participate in all mandatory workshops and mock sessions. If you do not participate in all mandatory workshops and mock sessions, you will be disqualified! 
  8. Competition organizers reserve the right to disqualify any application submission deemed inappropriate, unethical, or offensive – or to disqualify any finalist violating the Live Pitch Event rules.

  • Bulldog Pitch Semi-final Round Thursday, April 10 
  • Finalist Notified Thursday, April 10 
  • Bulldog Pitch Final Competition Wednesday, April 30 


December to February– Bulldog Pitch Competition Information Sessions 

The virtual sessions will offer students key perspectives on idea generation, the entrepreneurial mindset, customer discovery, and descriptive writing. Additionally, there is an opportunity for one-on-one coaching with successful entrepreneurs and business executives who are members of the Entrepreneurship Innovation Center’s Advisory Board.
