Jan. 28-30 Virtual Operations, Campus Remains Closed

Bowie State University will continue with virtual operations for all classes and office operations through Friday, January 30, 2026. The campus will be closed to all non-essential personnel, and all campus activities are canceled. All buildings except residence halls and the dining hall will be closed. Essential personnel should report on time. This is due to the extended time required to clear the extensive snow and ice accumulation on campus. University crews are making every effort to resume campus operations, as a safe return to in-person learning and work remains our top priority. Only essential personnel and residential students are permitted access to the campus through Jan. 30. For more information, please visit BowieState.edu/weather.

Driving Directions

From the north (Baltimore)

Take I-295 S towards Washington, DC. Take exit number 11, MD 197 towards Laurel/Bowie. Turn left off the exit onto MD 197 S (Laurel Bowie Road). Go five miles. Turn left at traffic light at Jericho Park Road into Bowie State University. At the entrance marquee (stop sign), turn right onto Jericho Park Road and continue until Loop Road. Take a left onto Loop road and follow posted signs to Parking Lots L, N & O.

From the south (Richmond)

Take I-95 N. Take exit I-495 N towards Baltimore. Take exit 19A, US 50 E toward Annapolis. Take exit 11, MD 197 N towards Bowie. Go five miles. Turn right at traffic light at Jericho Park Road into Bowie State University. At the entrance marquee (stop sign), turn right onto Jericho Park Road and continue until Loop Road. Take a left onto Loop road and follow posted signs to Parking Lots L, N & O.

From Washington, D.C.

Take a left onto Loop road and follow posted signs to Parking Lots L, N & O.

MARC Penn Line

From BWI airport

Take the Penn Line (southbound) train to the Bowie State University stop. The campus is a short walk from the train platform.

From Washington D.C.

Take the Penn Line (northbound) train to Bowie State University stop. The campus is a short walk from the train platform

Metrobus

Take either the B21, B22 or B27 bus to the Bowie State University stop. Each of those bus lines stop at the New Carrollton Metro Station.

Metrorail (DC Metro)

Take the Orange Line to the New Carrollton Metro Station. Switch to the MARC Penn Line, take the train toward Perryville and get off at the Bowie State University stop. Or take either the B21, B22 or B27 bus to the Bowie State University stop.
